Lizard King Supra Bullet

I wonder if Lizard King loved lizards as a kid like me. I used to catch those shits all the time but I swear I haven't seen one around in like ten years. Did they all go extinct?
Supra makes good skate shoes when they actually try. My favorite are the Grecco's but these new Bullets which is Lizard Kings new shoe come in at a close 3rd. Enjoy.

Chocolate Skateboards 15th Anniversary

The first skateboard crew that I was ever down with as a young skateboarder growing up was Chocolate. Everything decked out Chocolate. Til' this day I'm still up with the Girl/Chocolate fam and will always be.
This year, Chocolate Skateboards hit their 15th year anniversary in producing some of the best skaters and product in the game. As one of the more succesful companies in the skate industry housing real street brand name skaters such as Kenny Anderson, Chico Brenes and Marc Johnson, I'm super stoked to see the company achieve such a milestone and hope that they'll keep rolling for 15 more upcoming years and on.
Congrats to the whole Chocolate Crew and fam who have been there supporting the brand and culture we love so much.

2010. It's Time For Some Axion

Photobucket
One of the most anticipated things that I was looking forward to in 2010 was the return of one of my favorite skate shoe companies of all time, Axion Footwear. In the late 90's, Axion killed it with the sickest footwear with the sickest team. Straight Hip Hop!
Photobucket
Gino, Guy, Kareem, Lorenzo, BA and so many more dope ass skaters!! Wtf! Dream team of skate shoe teams. Not to mention the sickest flow team riders. Shit went down and so did the company. Left me shoeless for a hot minute there. I think it has almost been 10 years in the making of the comeback for Axion Footwear. Here are the first runs (not even out til Febuary yo, so hold your horses)

You gotta understand that I was anticipating this comeback since I heard the rumors a few years back. With that anticipation came high hopes. Very high hopes. Now I don't expect them to start back right where they left off (although that would be tight). I know that they won't slab dab have an all star team with Guy and Gino but I didn't want them to get all Supra on me with futuristic fly me to the moon shoes(ie, skytop). I understand the progression of skateboarding and the technology of the equipment have advanced over the years, but one thing that doesn't have to change is style. I guess what I'm trying to say to the peeps at Axion 2010 is, don't stray too far from the originals! No vulcanized (regardless of how hot and trendy it is, no moon shoes cuz we ain't goin nowhere quite yet and lets not have a bag of skittles act as a Pantone color chart.
Photobucket
Best be known that I will be rocking these with a vengence come February. From the looks of it, the first releases are mirroring the late 90's price tag. AIN'T NOTHIN WRONG WITH THAT! Skater friendly affordability my friend. Aint nothin wrong with that!

Anthony Van Engelen Vans

Photobucket
One of the raddest dudes on a stunt wood and one of my all time favorite skaters, Anthony Van Engelen (Alien Workshop, Vans, Independent, Spitfire)is set to release his new model signature shoe from Vans. I'm exited about this one because it looks sooo smooth! Anthony was responsible for bringing in instant classics like the sk8 lo's. The classic Vans skate Hi cut in half. Sick and genius! This shoe will prove to have the same impact.
Photobucket
This time his new shoe is a hybrid of the Vans Old Skool and the Vans Era! Insane. I was mentioning a few blogs back how the old skools were so easy to blow out. My prayers were answered and here lays the souped up Old Skool. Style with the support. I know Anthony is really down with the Old Skools. He's been rockin Old Skools since he got on Vans! Although I did see him in Authentics but that was when he was still on DC.
Get at me Vans.

P-Rod 2.5 Vulcanized

Photobucket

The title says it all. With the popularity of the simplicity of the Stefan Janoski shoe, Nike SB strikes back with another pair of $75+ vulcanized shoe. Nice!! This time, from Mr. Rodriguez. Notice the box price just went up another $5 on the Janoski's. (great job Nike SB) Way to make your shoes skater financial friendly!! Boy it must be nice to be sponsored.

Photobucket
I just bought my homey these pair of Nike SB Dunk low's last week and it had a box price of $83. $83!!! That box price is MSRP people. with tax, that's over 90 bones!! Yikes. I guess it's been that long since I haven't purchased a pair of dunks. Nothing crazy, no Gucci's or Heineken dunks. Just a pair of GR Dunk Low's. I bought the Heineken Dunks for $65? Where's the sense in this?

Am I a bitch for whining or am I a bitch for buying?

Robbie Russo DVS Special Request

Like many of you, the first time I saw Robbie Russo was in the Girl Skateboards X Anti Hero Road trip DVD, Beauty and the Beast.
Photobucket
Photobucket

Here was this little 16 year old hispanic kid, ripping parks like it was nobody's business with the likes of Trujillo and Cardiel. However, this kid was different than your typical 16 year old Ryan Sheckler because this kid can thrash. I would consider him an old soul trapped in a young kid's body. Just watch the way he skates and you'll know what I mean.
I don't think this kid has even turned pro yet. But, here he is with a Special Request DVS Luster in a Robbie Russo colorway. Big thangs poppin' for this dude so keep a heads up for the both Robbie and DVS.

Merry New Years

2009 set off quick and ended quick (to me). Been so busy with the holidays and the new years that I fell off the blog for a second. I know that 2010 will be a pinnacle year for a lot of people including myself. So for all the things you wish you had done last year, do it this year. My mentality for this year is to just go for it. Don't make the same mistakes you made last year. Screw resolutions. They never last. Just do.
I got in a board today and landed 4 straight Tre flips after not skating for a couple months. That's what I mean by just do. Don't think too much, you did that last year and it really didnt get you far, so more doing. No bullshit. Learn something new this year ie ride a motorcycle, date a chick you never would have dated last year, buy a pet cobra just for fun. Have a blast. Happy New Years everyone! Hope you had as much fun as me bringing in the new years passed out on a moon bounce.

I know its not a skate shoe but my best homey dropped me a present in the form of a brilliant pair of White/Cement Air Jordan 4 Retro's via 1999. I was like, OOooooooooooooh. This was a jaw dropper. Yeah, it still has Nike AIR on the back.
