I got a problem, you got a problem

Is it bad that I have at least 2 pairs of almost every shoe that I own/wear? Is it bad that I have to buy 2 pairs of a shoe otherwise I get this paranoid feeling of wearing a shoe that I only have one pair of? If you answered yes to Amy of the 2 questions you're probably 100% normal. I got a problem, you got a problem.
I used to never have a problem buying shoes back in the day. I wouldn't even stop to think twice about buying a certain shoe. Funny, I was also fine with just having that one pair. Just like you or any other normal person. For some wierd reason it seemed that money wasn't an issue too back then (I have no idea why) but I'd cop pair after continuous pair without feeling a nudge in my bank account. I guess I was richer then than I am now. Lol.

(this is 50% of my shoe closet, the other half don't fit in the picture)

Back to my issue, or let's call it a problem. 95% of my shoe closet consists of skate shoes. As a skater, shoes have been a tremendous part of my life for a long long time now. As you know skateboarding requires shoes. Skateboarding also tears and wears up your shoes like no other activity you can do in shoes. I mean torn up! We go through a lot of shoes in our time. But skaters go through two to three times more in their lifetime depending on how much they skate. Right now it seems that I rock a new pair every time I plan a skate trip or a dope session. I've killed a few shoes skating bit I kind of don't wanna do that no more.

Even before Nike SB revolutionized the collecting of skate shoes back in 2003 with the release of their Nike dunks I had an army of Axions in my closet. Post 2003 made it even harder to go through shoes because the $65 Nikes that I bought to skate in end up having market values of $300-$600. How am I gonna skate in shoes that are valued at that price? I just cant. And even if I did, I would want to make sure I had 2 pair. Therefore, I could kill one, and still have one "on ice" as they call it in the sneakerhead world. Ridiculous? I like to call it looking after myself. Would you call somebody who thought ahead crazy? or genius. You may laugh at your buddy that made that bunker under his house but are you still going to think he crazy when an A bomb hits and everyone is scrounging for their lives? Ok, we wont go that far, but it is the same concept. Well, not really.
But I am thinking ahead of myself. The shoes that I really like are timeless and probably wont be produced again. I kick myself in the head for not keeping those Kareem Campbell Duffs or my OG Es Koston 1's and 3's (best skate shoe of all time in my opinion). Plus skateboarding and everything revolving it is my passion. I love everything about it and am proud to be a part of it. With all this said, I'll continue to pursue my passion of skate shoes. Go skate!

Brian Anderson is a Beast dot com

Look out for Brian anderson's big ass size 13 Tre flip stomping Nike Dunk lows to hit retailers this month. They'll have a hefty "premium" box price and BA prolly won't get extra shit for it. But BA is my boi and on the list as one of my fav skaters of all time. Funny, BA usually always rocks out dunk hi's. He and Todd Jordan had me skating dunks hi for a while but this time around he switched it up to the dunk low. Way to change it up B.
Speaking of BA, I just recieved a care package in the form of some skatemental dunks today for skating. You know, the ones that look like shit in the toilet bowl! Thing is, I haven't been on a board in 2 months so what's the point (i guess get back on the board). Last trick I landed was a Tre flip but I probably lost em by now. It's been 2 months!

New Recruits and one OG

Cons officially announced the new recruits in the form of Kenny Anderson, Eli Reed and Angel Ramirez. OG Kenny was on the original team back in 1997 so it's dope to see him back to finish off what he started. He should have been the first to get on the new Cons but I ain't mad at em'. Two Chocolate heads on lock, another may be on the way (Chris).
Note: KENNY ANDERSON IS A REAL GOOD.

Cons Skate Quickstrike

Photobucket
Cons skate releases a quickstrike in the form of the Chuck Taylor Skate Black Perf. Real similar to the first run perf CTS minus the gold accents. Sleek. For when you're not skating.
While we're on the subject, Chocolate pro Chris Roberts has been spotted with Cons after the recent pick up of Kenny Anderson. Both Kenny and Chris were previously on Adio.

Andy Kessler Vans Symdicate

Photobucket
Yea yeah yeaaaaah! New kicks from Vans Syndicates = smiley face. Everything these guys do is gold. For me these guys have been doing it right since the start. You can never go wrong with the classics. Upgraded material with meaning behind the design. This time around, Syndicate pays homage to legendary skater Andy Kessler who passed away last year. His perseverance, style and love for skating lives through us and will continue for generations to come. The line will feature the old skool and the sk8 hi models with details that commemorate Andy Kessler.

FTC 2010 Lookbook

I was fortunate enough to drop into FTC last summer on a road trip to SF. It was my first time there (because I don't frequent SF) but boy did I love it. Definately one of the more hot spots to drop by when you're in town.
With the rich history of skaters that have come in and out these doors, it's only right to give props to SF's greatest skate shop. In addition to it's Sac, SF and Tokyo locations, FTC now is available online at FTCSF.com. Check out the new 2010 lookbook here
