Vans East (Acapulco Gold) vs. West (Crooks n Castles)

These pair of Vans just dropped at local shops here in LA. Its a pack that features a new Vans model called Moda Hi which takes features from the Sk8 Hi and the Mountain edition.
Nice to see Vans working with these two street brands but where in the hell does Crooks n Castles come off to representing the West? I know AG have been holding down for the NYC for a hot minute but I don't know how Vans came to the conclusion that Crooks represent the west.

I don't wear Crooks. Matter of fact, I don't even like their clothing or what they're about. Just a bunch of Asians acting "gangsta". Call me a hater, I know. Whatever, it's my blog. The Acapulco Gold version is hot though. (Remember east coast x west coast rivalry? we need some more of that. It's good for business and a lot of these "street wear" brands that are about nothing could pretend to be about something.

The Legend of Wilfredo Gomez

If you don't skate then you probably are not familiar with the likes of Anthony Pappalardo, Eli Reed, Josh Kalis, and Wilfredo Gomez. Why? Because you'll never catch these cats on ESPN. Check out this HBO documentary on the legend of Wilfredo Gomez (who I have ran into many a times) starring some of the most influential icons in the skate game. watch n' learn.
