I got a problem, you got a problem

Is it bad that I have at least 2 pairs of almost every shoe that I own/wear? Is it bad that I have to buy 2 pairs of a shoe otherwise I get this paranoid feeling of wearing a shoe that I only have one pair of? If you answered yes to Amy of the 2 questions you're probably 100% normal. I got a problem, you got a problem.
I used to never have a problem buying shoes back in the day. I wouldn't even stop to think twice about buying a certain shoe. Funny, I was also fine with just having that one pair. Just like you or any other normal person. For some wierd reason it seemed that money wasn't an issue too back then (I have no idea why) but I'd cop pair after continuous pair without feeling a nudge in my bank account. I guess I was richer then than I am now. Lol.

Back to my issue, or let's call it a problem. 95% of my shoe closet consists of skate shoes. As a skater, shoes have been a tremendous part of my life for a long long time now. As you know skateboarding requires shoes. Skateboarding also tears and wears up your shoes like no other activity you can do in shoes. I mean torn up! We go through a lot of shoes in our time. But skaters go through two to three times more in their lifetime depending on how much they skate. Right now it seems that I rock a new pair every time I plan a skate trip or a dope session. I've killed a few shoes skating bit I kind of don't wanna do that no more.

Even before Nike SB revolutionized the collecting of skate shoes back in 2003 with the release of their Nike dunks I had an army of Axions in my closet. Post 2003 made it even harder to go through shoes because the $65 Nikes that I bought to skate in end up having market values of $300-$600. How am I gonna skate in shoes that are valued at that price? I just cant. And even if I did, I would want to make sure I had 2 pair. Therefore, I could kill one, and still have one "on ice" as they call it in the sneakerhead world. Ridiculous? I like to call it looking after myself. Would you call somebody who thought ahead crazy? or genius. You may laugh at your buddy that made that bunker under his house but are you still going to think he crazy when an A bomb hits and everyone is scrounging for their lives? Ok, we wont go that far, but it is the same concept. Well, not really.
But I am thinking ahead of myself. The shoes that I really like are timeless and probably wont be produced again. I kick myself in the head for not keeping those Kareem Campbell Duffs or my OG Es Koston 1's and 3's (best skate shoe of all time in my opinion). Plus skateboarding and everything revolving it is my passion. I love everything about it and am proud to be a part of it. With all this said, I'll continue to pursue my passion of skate shoes. Go skate!
